About
A small studio that finishes things
Ghonaim Studio is a software studio in Cairo. We build internal tools, web apps, iOS apps, payment systems and AI automation for companies in Egypt, the Gulf and further out.
The studio is led by Mohamed Farid, a senior software engineer with more than eight years of shipped products. He writes the code himself. When you hire us, you are hiring the person who will build your system, and you talk to him from the first call to the handover.
That is a deliberate size. One engineer who has shipped payments, localization, AI automation and App Store apps can hold a whole system in his head, and a company owner gets answers in one message instead of a chain of three people. When a project genuinely needs more hands, we say so before quoting rather than after.
The work happens remote from Cairo on EET, Sunday to Thursday, in English and Arabic. We have built for companies in Latvia, the USA, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, so bilingual interfaces, right-to-left layouts and a client three time zones away are all normal here.
Our founder trained as a civil engineer before he wrote software, and the useful part of that training was never the concrete: it was that you draw the thing properly, you state what is in the scope, and you hand over something that gets built and used.
Principles
What we hold to
Finished, not impressive
A system in daily use beats a beautiful prototype. We would rather ship phase one in four weeks and improve it with real users than spend four months on a perfect plan.
Say the scope out loud
What is in, what is out, and how many weeks. Written down before the work starts, so a change of mind is a conversation about a new phase and not an argument.
Bilingual by default
English and Arabic, right-to-left done properly in the interface and in the documents. Not a translation bolted on at the end, where it always breaks.
No claims we cannot back
Every number on this site comes from a project we worked on, with its method next to it. Where we only have a qualitative result, we say that instead of inventing a percentage.
